According to statistics, Nigeria is a country with a teeming youth population of over 40% within the age 18-35 years. The youth are a major resource base for not only development of national economic and financial prosperity but also for social changes. Hence the need to empower them to effectively contribute to National development through Creative Arts.

The maiden edition of NYEES was one of the activities that held for the year’s democracy day celebration it featured entrepreneurship and empowerment seminars, plenary sessions, lectures, open forums, skills acquisition trainings and pitching of business ideas for start-up grants.
This is part of activities lined up for Independence Day celebration. From the office of Secretary to the Federation.
Goals of National Youth Entrepreneurship Empowerment Summit (NYEES)
- Encourage Creativity and to create enabling environment where youth can showcase their creative abilities.
- Interface with top government officials responsible for youth intervention programs
- Youth Empowerment through Arts
- Encourage Entrepreneurship and birthing of new businesses
- Create enabling environment where budding entrepreneurs and start-up businesses can showcase creative innovative and viable designs that is a solution provider in the industry.
- Interface with top government officials responsible for youth intervention programs
- Provide them with soft grants as start-up capital
Requirements/Qualifications to Participant in NYEES
To qualify and win of one of the 10 slots for N1 Million grant, simply record a 60 seconds (1 minute) video showing you and your creative work in any of the following categories:
- Art: Painting and Sculpture
- Performance Art: Dance and Theater
- Music: Composition and performance of music
- Crafts: Hand craft
- Film & Entertainment
- Fashion: Design and Fashion shows
- Culture
- Design & Architecture
- New Media
- ICT Solution
