N-Power Update: This is great news for N-Power Batch C group, that the Federal Government of Nigeria, through the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development and the N-Power Support Team has inaugurated 510,000 Volunteers for posting and Deployment to their respective PPAs, see more details below.
On Monday in Abuja, the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Sadiya Umar Farouq, inaugurates the N-Power Batch C Stream 1 across the Federation.
In an address speech at the inauguration ceremony, the Minister congratulated all the successful Volunteers; she also said that the N-Power Batch C was divided into two streams; Stream C1 of 510,000 beneficiaries and stream C2 of 490,000 others.
FG Launches GEEP 2.0 Programme
Meanwhile, the flagged off for the 2021 commencement of N-Power Batch C1 was held at the NAF Conference Centre, Abuja, Yesterday 23rd August, by 3pm. Similarly, GEEP 2.0 launch holds on Tuesday morning at the ICC by Hajia Sadiyah Umar Farouq. (Events on going now)
Recently, we heard that all Focal Persons of the National Social Investment Programme in Abuja held a Crucial Meeting, and a Courtesy visit to the newly appointed National Program Coordinator of Conditional Cash Transfer Program, Hajia Halima Shehu at NCTO, Asokoro, and Abuja indicates that the following will soon happen:
- N-Power Batch C Stream 1 will be launched ending of August 2021. (Which has been done yesterday)
- School feeding to continue after holidays
- GEEP 2.0 to be launched end of August 2021(launching today August 24, 2021)
- Conditional Cash Transfer (4 months Jan-April 2021 backlogs) to be disbursed to poor and vulnerable women beginning from Monday 23rd 9th Sept 2021
- STEMBURSARY (a new component of NSIP) to commence any moment soon.
How was N-Power Batch C Stream 1 Inaugurated?
The volunteers of N-Power Batch C1 were inaugurated as follows:
- 450000 volunteers were selected for the graduate component
- 60000 Volunteers were selected for the Non-graduate component.
All together making a total of 510,000 successful Volunteers which were selected nationwide for the N-Power programe.

Also quoted by the Minister, she said “Today, we are here to inaugurate the N-Power Batch C1. The N-Power Graduate volunteers are entitled to a monthly stipend of Thirty Thousand Naira each (N30,000.00) for a period of one year.
”The Non-Graduate beneficiaries are entitled to Ten Thousand Naira (N10,000.000) monthly stipends for a period of nine months.
She also continued, “All beneficiaries are granted an appropriate starter pack for their trade, to enable them start their businesses in their chosen trades. By the special grace of God, I hereby flag-off the N-Power Batch C1 for the 36 States and FCT,”
She stressed that her Ministry was committed to ensuring that the strategic objectives of all the National Social Intervention Programmes (NSIP) were achieved in partnership with NYSC, UBEC, the NPHCDA, the NOA and many others.
Commendations by the National Social Investment Programme (NSIP)
Present at the inauguration ceremony is the National Coordinator of the National Social Investment Programme (NSIP), Umar Bindir,.
The NSIP Coordinator also spoke in his own words saying, “Since 1960, the different poverty alleviation programmes of the Federal Government had remained only at a programme level.
“But, President Buhari thought it wise to have a full-fledged ministry to effectively address poverty, so as not to repeat the mistakes of the past. He also institutionalized the National Social Investment Programme (NSIP) in 2016.
“The NSIP have components such as N-Power, National Home Grown School Feeding Programme, Government Enterprise and Entrepreneurship Programme and Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT).

For effective communication, regarding limitation of information flow and internet access across the country, the Ministry has provided access to information via a USSD code. The USSD short code *45665# will provide the required connectivity and technical support for the provision of information services to our beneficiaries.
Other Dignitaries at the Event
The event attracted officials from the office of the Head of the Federal Civil Service, Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, National Youth Service Corps the Ministry of Women Affairs, Industry, Trade and Investment, Humanitarian Affairs, among others.
They all pledged their support to the humanitarian affairs ministry and the NSIP towards the achievement of the programme.
High points of the occasion was the presentation of engagement letters to the beneficiaries and cultural dance performance by the Unity Cultural Troupe.
