This medium is to enlighten you about the 2019 Australia Master’s Scholarship or Short Course Awards for African Nations, Application form has been released. Africa is the cornerstone of the Australian Government’s Development Assistance Program for Africa. It provides access to postgraduate education, training and professional development opportunities for suitably qualified Africans from eligible countries. On their return to the workplace, Australia Awards Alumni are expected to contribute to the development of their home countries.

The objective of these Awards is to provide high quality education and training to talented Africans who will be in a position, on their return home, to make an important contribution to national or regional development.

Currently Australia Awards Scholarships are being offered at Master degree level and Short Course Awards.

Awards offered by Australia for African Nations include:

  1. Australian Awards Scholarships, to undertake higher degree studies in Australia at Masters Level
  2. Australia Awards Short Courses, to undertake short-term, targeted professional training courses, in Australia and/or in Africa, in a range of development-focused sectors

Application Requirements for 2019 Australia Master’s Scholarship or Short Course Awards for African Nations

To be considered for a Master’s Scholarship or Short Course Award, applicants must meet their country’s eligibility requirements.

  1. Citizens of any eligible African country
  2. Minimum academic requirement: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  3. Mid-level to senior-level professional, currently employed in a relevant field
  4. Meet relevant post-graduate work experience requirements
  5. Demonstrate a clear vision of how the knowledge gained through the scholarship will be used to improve policy, practice or reform in their home country
  6. Satisfactory English proficiency to enable full participation in a training course delivered in English
  7. Satisfy all requirements of the Australian Government for the appropriate student visa (subclass 500)
